At the October kick-off meeting of the COST Action Rethinking Blue Economy (CA 22122) in Brussels, Prof. Maciej Kowalewski was elected leader of the „Port Cities and Coastal Communities” working group (WG). The action involves 31 European countries, and Prof. Kowalewski is one of two Polish-nominated representatives on the Management Committee.
The COST Action is a European network dedicated to scientific cooperation and complements national research funds. The Institute of Sociology has been conducting research in the area of maritime sociology and port city studies in international cooperation for many years.
